Maine Family Planning (MFP) provides sexual and reproductive health services at 18 clinics throughout Maine and via telehealth, and provides passthrough funding for family planning services to an additional 44 partners in reproductive health as the state’s federal Title X National Family Planning program grantee. Services provided at MFP clinics include pregnancy testing and options counseling, contraception, cervical and breast cancer screening, STI testing and treatment, wellness exams, abortion care, LGBTQ+ inclusive care including gender-affirming hormone therapy, and more. Three MFP sites also provide primary care services (Ellsworth, Houlton, and Presque Isle). MFP administers the WIC program in Hancock and Washington counties and the Maine Families Home Visitor program in Hancock County. Established as a nonprofit in 1971, MFP’s mission is to ensure that all people have access to high-quality, culturally relevant and affordable sexual and reproductive health care services, comprehensive sexual health education, and the right to control their sexual and reproductive lives.
